Alison Simpson – Northants

Alison qualified from Dundee University in 1997 and is the principal dentist at one of our same day smiles™ clinics. With her extensive experience, Alison enjoys all aspects of dentistry in particular implants and prides herself on increasing patients’ confidence and self-esteem through their new smiles.

Andrew Legg – Surgeon

Andrew graduated from the University of Manchester in 2001. His extensive experience in general practice has given Andrew grounding in all aspects of dental care. His postgraduate training includes Oral Surgery and Implant Dentistry, a Clinical Certificate in Implantology and Advanced Surgical Training at the Royal College of Surgeons. Recently Andrew passed his Membership of the Faculty of Dental Surgery, Royal College of Surgeons Edinburgh. Andrew is passionate about the use of dental implants in helping restore patients to a more natural form and function and believes they play a pivotal role in improving the quality of life and general health in patients.

Andy Stafford – Newcastle-upon-Tyne

Since graduating from the University of Newcastle in 2001 Andy Stafford has pursued a career in private restorative/cosmetic dentistry.

In 2006 Andy Stafford completed a foundation module in Dental Implantology from the University of Sheffield. He then went on to complete a year-long certification course in Dental Implantology in Manchester. More recently he studied at the Malo Clinic in Lisbon, Portugal completing the Advanced NobelGuide™ & All-on-4 ™ program. He Offers a range of Implant solutions from single through to full mouth at his Newcastle Clinic. Dr Stafford is also a member of the Americam acedemy of Cosmetic dentistry (AACD) and has recently been accepted onto the MSc program in Restorative and Aesthetic dentistry at the University of Manchester.

Darren Cannell – Newcastle-upon-Tyne

Dr Darren Cannell graduated from Newcastle University Dental School in 2001. Upon graduation, he was awarded the prestigious James Coltman Award, an individual honour awarded for overall skill in Operative Dentistry.

In 2008 Dr Cannell completed a foundation module in Dental Implantology from the University of Sheffield. Following on from this he completed the 18 Month One to One Implant training programme at the University of Sheffield, regarded by many as the premier implant training course in the UK . Since then Dr Cannell has completed further Implant Training in both the UK and Europe. Most recently,he completed The “Advanced NobelGuide TM” & “All-on-4 TM” Course held in Lisbon, Portugal, at the prestigious Malo Clinic led by World famous Professor Paulo Malo.

Dr Cannell is a member of the Americam academy of Cosmetic dentistry (AACD). He is also a Gold Member of the International Academy of Advanced Facial Aesthetics (IAAFA) and a member of The British Dental Association (BDA).

Daz Singh – Liverpool

Daz qualified from Liverpool in 2005. Since then he has successfully completed many postgraduate training courses including a year long course on Restorative Dentistry and Implant Dentistry, and courses in Smile Design and Aesthetic Dentistry. Daz has also completed a great deal of training with the Dawson Academy and is currently in the process of completing his Msc in Restorative and Aesthetic dentistry. Philip J Friel – Glasgow

Graduated from The University of Glasgow with Degrees in Anatomy (1998) and Dental Surgery (2000) before attaining membership to the Royal College of Surgeons in Edinburgh in 2004, awarded membership – without examination – to the Royal College of Physicians and Surgeons in Glasgow in 2009.

Philip has a particular interest in dental implantology, immediate loading in the aesthetic zone and soft tissue response, combining this with all aspects of grafting and CT guided surgery. He was one of the first surgeons to be trained in the NobelGuide guided surgery technique and the Nobel Active implant.

Philip has a strong commitment to continued education and has travelled extensively to train and learn from globally recognised pioneers of advanced cosmetic and implant techniques.

He is heavily involved in implant mentoring and lectures and co-ordinates courses on the placement and restoration of dental implants for Nobel Biocare.

In 2010 Philip was named the Best Young Dentist of the Year in Scotland in the prestigious Dentistry Awards. He was also listed among the Top 50 UK Most Influential Dentists with particular mention made for his dental implant work.

Riten Patel – Surrey

Riten qualified from Liverpool University in July 2000 his current professional memberships include the American Academy of Cosmetic Dentistry (AACD) and The British Academy of Cosmetic Dentistry (BACD) and British Dental Association(BDA). Riten has also undertaken special training in Occlusion, Orthodontics, and Advanced Restorative Dentistry and is highly experienced in treating problems associated with the jaw joint including associated pain and migraines. He is also on a panel of experts for The Cosmetic Dentistry Guide and is a dental phobia certified dentist, working to help cure people of their fears of dental treatment.

Riz Syed – Surgeon

Riz qualified in 1999 at The Royal London Hospital. He lectures both nationally and internationally on all aspects of Implant Dentistry including hard and soft tissue management and Nobel Guide. He is also a visiting surgeon to numerous surgeries across the UK. As a mentor for Nobel Biocare™ he has helped to train Implant Surgeons across the UK and is regularly consulted for the treatment planning of complex cases. Riz is also highly experienced in more complex aspects of implant surgery such as sinus grafting, ridge expansion, connective tissue grafting and bone augmentation. In 2005 Riz was one of the first Surgeons to us the Nobel Guide surgery. He is a member of the Association of Dental Implantology (ADI), International Congress of Oral Implantologists (ICOI) and a Fellow of the Royal Society of Medicine.

Richard Brookshaw – Surgeon

Richard Brookshaw qualified in 1996 from the University of Dundee. In 1999 he gained his Masters degree in Oral Surgery from the University of Sheffield, and further extended his clinical qualification in 2001 by completing an 18 month Implant Training Programme, also at the University of Sheffield.

Richard is both nationally and internationally respected as a lecturer and mentor in Implant Dentistry, immediate same day implants (same day smiles™) and Nobelguide/ CT scan guided surgery. He also lectures for Nobel Biocare on a range of advanced implant techniques. He is a regular lecturer and contributor to their World Tour. Richard exclusively practices all aspects of implant dentistry, including hard and soft tissue augmentation, sinus grafting and same day implants.

In 2009, he was one of the first 5 implant dentists in the country to be awarded the Diploma in Implant Dentistry from the Royal College of Surgeons of Edinburgh (Dip Imp Dent RCS Ed).

In his spare time, when not enjoying time with his young family, Richard enjoys most forms of sports, particularly golf, football, cricket and cycling.

Sudarsh Naidoo – Liverpool

Sudarsh qualified in Johannesburg, South Africa, in 1997 and is a member of the BDA. Daniel Collins – Formby

In addition to his many years working in general practice, Daniel worked in an Oral Maxillofacial Surgical unit at St James hospital and Leeds General Infirmary in Leeds for 2 years, gaining valuable surgical and medical experience. He has further postgraduate training in advanced restorative and cosmetic dentistry and has completed additional training in implant dentistry. He has worked in practices in Leeds, Manchester and Liverpool and now works in his own practice in Formby, providing high quality dental care to his patients. He is a member of the British Dental Association, Royal College of Surgeons and British Association of Cosmetic Dentistry.

Jairaj Dhaliwal – Leicestershire

Jai qualified in 2005 from Bristol University. Following this he undertook 3 years further training in Oral and Maxillofacial Surgery at the Manchester Royal Infirmary before gaining a postgraduate qualification – Membership of the Royal College of Surgeons, London. He has undertaken extensive further post graduate training in advanced implant surgery with CADE the Centre for Advanced Dental Education.

He enjoys lecturing in all aspects of surgical dentistry and mentors junior dental surgeons in oral surgery. Alongside this he is an examiner for the Royal College of Surgeons London, since 2010.

Jai strives to provide the best in clinical care for his patients and so continually keeps himself updated under the guidance of internationally renowned surgeons in the UK, Europe and the USA.

Julian A. Powell – Formby

A Liverpool University graduate from 1987, Julian has a great deal of general practice experience working in the North West of England. He has undergone postgraduate training in Advanced Restorative and Cosmetic Techniques and Implantology, and now has many years of implant experience working alongside some of the country’s top Implantologists. Julian is also a member of the Association of Dental Implantologists and the British Association of Cosmetic dentists.
